The 2010 American Dream Farm Saddle Club Vet Day was a wonderful learning experience for everyone. Thanks to Dr. Jarod Eddy of Equine Medical Center for teaching the ADF Saddle Club Members about Vaccinations, Colic, Deworming, Choke and how to give an injection.

~Tuesday, June 15-Friday, June 18, 2010 ~ Advanced Boot Camp 9:00 am- 1:00 pm
This Boot Camp will fill up fast as I have four horses for campers who don't own their own horse. The Advanced Boot Camp is offered to all riders who are able to canter or lope both inside and outside of the arena. This camp is offered to all ages of Riders who ride at an Advanced Level. This Boot Camp will involve, Obstacle Work inside and outside of the arena, Cross Country work, A Scavenger Hunt, Horse Show Class techniques for winning, Conformation Clinic, Advanced Balanced Riding Lessons, A Horse Show on the last day of camp and much more. Please contact Monique at 770-634-9354 or Monique@americandreamfarm.net a.s.a.p. for a Camp Application and to sign up for this camp. The fee for this Camp is $350.00. Anyone who brings their own horse (fully vaccinated including the Strangles vaccination) gets a $50.00 discount.

This Beginner's Horsemanship Camp is for young Campers (ages 6 - 12) who are interested in learning Horsemanship and Riding at a beginner level. Campers will learn grooming, tacking, handling horses on the ground and under saddle, a horse's body parts, veterinary care, farrier care, first aid, conformation, colic, how to read a horse's body language, safe trail riding, and much, much more in a friendly, comfortable, caring learning environment. The ADF Adult Boot Camp was held on Saturday April 18th and Sunday April 19th for 3 - 4 hours each day and included Horsemanship topics and Riding Skills. The Horsemanship portion included the Join Up Process for lunging, Veterinary Care, Farrier Care, Vaccinations, Supplements, Deworming, Horse Riding Safety outside the arena, Round Table Discussions, Q & A, Riding Lessons for a Balanced Seat and Better Equitation. This was a crash course in Horsemanship and Riding and to have some fun! This Adult Boot Camp is offered to ages 18 & over. Everyone had a great time .. thanks, ADF!
Congratulations to the ADF Show Team for a wonderful job competing this past weekend, FRIDAY MARCH 27TH AND SATURDAY MARCH 28TH at the HALL COUNTY 4-H SPRING EQUINE CLASSIC.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH - 1:00pm - 3:00pm - ADF Saddle Club Horsemanship Day - Vet Day What a great Horsemanship Day at ADF! Thank you to all of the Saddle Club Members, parents, and auditors who attended the ADF Vet Day. Dr. Jarod Eddy DVM from Equine Medical Center came to teach the ADF Saddle Club Members how to give an injection, all about vaccinations, deworming, how to take a horse's temperature, listen for a regular heart beat, and the different types of colic. Members also learned about flexion testing, floating teeth, sedation and hock injections. Equine Medical Center donated hoof pics, sweat scrapers, educational DVD's and Books for our raffles. Thank you Equine Medical Center and huge thanks to Dr. Jarod Eddy!

Field Trip to the Lazy Bee Farm! The Lazy Bee Farm is a Homesteader's Farm owned by my friend Cyndi Ball. What a great time we had learing how to Homestead at the Lazy Bee! Thanks to all the Chaperones and ADF Saddle Club Members who attended the Field Trip, and a special thanks to Cyndi Ball and her family!

Once again the American Dream Farm Show Team excelled in their skills and sportsmanship. July, 2008: The Smith's hosted a birthday party to celebrate upcoming birthdays for Tess Smith and Courtney Cormier. Great day and we all got soaked due to a cleaverly planned water balloon fight with the kids .. which concluded with the parents getting just as wet. The events started with a nice Thunderstorm and then scavenger hunt. Followed by Simon Says, Egg --n- Spoon and some great food .. plus, a very big cookie cake. Happy Birthday Girls!

With a very heavy heart that I bring this very sad news to everyone. Our beloved Image was put to rest last night around 7:30 p.m. Image was found Sunday evening with a very sore left hind leg and what looked to be either a snake bite or a blow. After initial x-rays no fractures were found. After swelling started to increase even with treatment the vet x-rayed the leg again yesterday to find a tibial compound fracture that most likely started as a hairline fracture and simply continued to worsen. Even if the very expensive surgery were done there were no guarantees that Image would ever recover and live any good quality of life. We have suffered a terrible loss as many of you students took many of your first lessons on Image and showed him, and he taught us all so much every day just being in his presence.
I cannot thank you all enough who were here at the farm last night for coming here to say good-bye to Image. And, thanks to all of you who had offered to help me with cold hosing his leg and helping me treat him. Thank you all so much for the beautiful emails and voice mails. I know you all loved Image too. Scott, Tess, and myself have known Image as long as we have owned Titan and Zip and considered him one of our own. I cannot tell you all how much we will miss him every day from this point on.
We will be putting a Memory Page on the website for Image soon. Any stories you have or happy memories you wish to recant are welcomed.
To our Beautiful Brett's Image we love you very much. You remained sweet even at the end and never once pinned your ears or winced to let us know you were in pain. Image, you were an angel in a beautiful sorrel Appaloosa's body. A gift from God to all of us. I will remember you in only happy ways with a smile on my face as I think of you.
Thank you all for coming to Student/Buddy Day. I was so impressed with how well the instructor's taught the students and buddies! The Student's equitation was fantastic! We all had a great time!
